Codeplay is working on artificial intelligence applications in the automotive sector, looking specifically at Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and self-driving cars. Traditionally, Codeplay’s expertise has been within gaming and mobile phones, so in branching out to the automotive world, WAE is the ideal partner.
Codeplay’s next-generation of car hardware developments are a stepping stone towards fully autonomous driving, and the fund’s £1.05m investment allowed them to progress to the next stage of their business. On 31 May 2022, the company was successfully acquired by a US corporate buyer, achieving a 15.7x return.
As Foresight concentrated on growing the business globally, WAE’s background in systems integration and optimization has allowed them to provide support on the development of automotive safety-certified products.
