Zero Point Motion was added to the FWT portfolio with a £1.6 Million lead investment in November 2021. The company is using cavity optomechanics to provide low noise chip-scale inertial measurement units (IMUs). IMUs enable electronic devices to monitor their relative position, motion, and acceleration, for example in smart phones they are used to support navigation in GPS denied environments.
Zero Point Motion are developing sensors up to 10,000X more sensitive than those currently in the market, which will transform the capabilities of electronics in a wide range of sectors such as smart phone sand drones.
