WAE Technologies is proud to be the title partner of the EEMS2023 – Net Zero Motorsport Conference.

Organised by the Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) and taking place at the British Motor Museum, Gaydon on 21 March 23, EEMS2023 combines a visionary technology and engineering conference with interactive technology showcases. Alongside a host of guests from the technology and racing industry, WAE will be one of the key speakers at the ‘Tomorrow’s World of Motorsport’ discussing the next decade of net zero motorsport.

Over the past three years, WAE has cemented its position as the go-to supplier for EV and hybrid systems in the premium formulas of world motorsport.  One such example is the battery developed for the LMDh category in prototype sportscar racing, with the first race utilising this technology being the 61st running of the legendary Rolex Daytona 24hrs held in January this year. The LMDh initiative allows hybrid race cars to compete in both the IMSA WeatherTech and ACO WEC endurance race series and provides the first opportunity in many years to compete across multiple series under the same technical regulations. WAE has been responsible for the battery, DC-DC converter and the company’s bespoke Battery Management System.

WAE Technologies has its roots in hybridisation and endurance racing as an offshoot of a Formula 1 team, where it created the Jaguar C-X75 hybrid supercar, the flywheel energy store to the Audi LMP1 car and aerodynamic testing to the all-conquering Porsche 919 as well as supplying the complete KERS hybrid system to the Marussia Formula 1 team. Now an independent company, WAE is the sole supplier of batteries for pure electric motorsport, from Formula E to Extreme E and ETCR.

Doug Campling, Head of Motorsport at WAE, commented: “WAE Technologies is a leader in the development of high-performance electrification innovations for a wide range of global motorsport series. Over the coming decade, this sector is only going to grow – it is an exciting time for the sport. We are delighted to be title partner of the EEMS2023 event, where we look forward to showcasing some of our industry leading products for the first time and discussing the future of net zero motorsport with other industry leaders.”
