WAE has been designated by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) as Single Battery Supplier to the FIA Electric World Rallycross Championship for the seasons 2020 to 2023.
As the FIA World Motor Sport Council meeting in Manila approved proposals to transform the current FIA World Rallycross Championship into the FIA Electric World Rallycross Championship from 2020 the decision was also made to name WAE as the sole battery supplier, building on the success of powering the ABB FIA Formula E Championship since its inception.
“WAE is delighted to have been selected by the FIA to electrify the World Rallycross Championship,” said Craig Wilson, Managing Director of WAE. “Having powered successfully the entire FIA Formula E grid since its inception our team looks forward to delivering their world-class capabilities to all the competitors in the Championship.”
WAE was recently recognised with a 2018 Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation, the UK’s most prestigious awards for business, for its work in the field of battery design and supply.
